This past week we did a selection of projects on Adobe Illustrator, one of which was called Postcards from the Edge. A group of mini projects that were designed to improve our skills in Illustrator, using alignment tools to help with a silly bear, the pen tool to help with a little frog buddy, But the most interesting of all was a postcard. We were instructed to make a postcard from a North Carolina location, and I picked Durham (obviously) and made a more abstract take on your average postcard, layering the city skyline over the flag. I added a nice touch of having the name the same color as the flag, so when layered over, only certain aspects were visible. Overall, I think that this project was a challenge, but I also learned a lot about Illustrator, and with a more experienced view of the program, I recognize the value of its tools.
-Postcards from the Edge is a cool name. -I am growing on Adobe Illustrator. -The project was cool and also important. -People don't recognize how valuable these mini projects are. app.schoology.com/assignment/1420578169/info
