Ive given this subject a lot of thought lately, and I have come up with a few ideas that high schools could implement to make it much better for students. (Disclaimer, this is based on my personal opinions and experiences) one thing that I think myself and many other students can agree on is that we don't have enough free time (or time to be active and ourselves) some could argue that lunch is a good opportunity to do just that, but with only 30 minutes, you have a choice to sacrifice either eating or physical activity for the other. What the schools could do is actually implement a recess of sorts into the day, even if it takes off of other classes, students mental health is very valuable, and currently, the only effort DSA has put towards keeping kids sane is a student services area, and not a good one at that. There have been multiple studies showing how important recess is for older kids as well as you. www.dsa.dpsnc.net
-schools need to get recess back in place. -schools need better councilors and support. -schools need to understand kids better. -schools need less work.

In reality, I have not played many video games, and even less at that; played one that has been made into a movie. However, I have played Uncharted, and the entire series is a movie in itself, full of incredibly cinematic scenes and gameplay, and an incredibly rich story in every one. Therefore, the Uncharted games could easily become a movie or even a franchise with just how many possibilities there are in the world of the game. Thinking this topic interesting, I decided to do more research and give it more thought, and discovered a few things. I learned of a full live action super Mario bros made in the 90’s. And I have to say, its one of the worst films I have seen in a long time, even though it featured big names, the classic game should have never been interpreted into anything more than what it is. Which leads me to the theory of separation in the video game movie industry, where there are those that were almost made for being a movie, and those that should never be made into anything other than themselves. A few things I noticed while watching the movie was, because the Mario bros game already has a very vague story, the movies was not better, sticking only with the characters in a setting completely alien to what we know and love from the game, already losing my interest due to what I had expected and what I received. Overall, I realized that most games are meant to stay the way they were created, but every once in a while, a little gem will come around.
staff!, Chosen by RT, et al. “Super Mario Bros.” Safe Haven (2013) - Rotten Tomatoes, www.rottentomatoes.com/m/super_mario_bros/. -I have not played enough games to see a decent movie about one. But, Uncharted is a movie in Itself and deserves to be one. -I watched the Super Mario Bros movie, and was very disappointed. |
